Hi! I'm Sean Jasin. I'm studying at UIUC for a major in Electrical Engineering and minors in Computer Science and Semiconductor Engineering. Set to graduate in 2026.
While I'm studying Electrical Engineering, I firmly believe that it's important to understand both sides, the hardware and the software side of things. Who better to word it than Codetector:
To build better software you must understand the hardware it runs on, to create excellent hardware it would be a must to understand the software that runs on it.
or even Carl Sagan:
If you wish to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe
My hobbies range from music to low level hardware. It's all over the place. I love learning in general and always find it fascinating how simple things can become so complex when we dive deeper into the subject.
Art
I love art! I'm currently trying my hand at drawing, photography, and videography. You can check it out on my instagram. I hope to be able to capture many memories with creativity! Music
I absolutely love music and the things that go unnoticed with it. I especially love working on amplifiers and DACs while listening to music. Alongside the electronics, I also love playing music on the piano! I recently picked up the guitar, and I am absolutely destroying my fingers on it to grow calluses T-T. Keyboards
I got into the keyboard hobby around 2020. It's not very wallet friendly, but my keyboard feels awesome! My first purchased keyboard was the AnnePro2, then the Durgod K320, and lastly, my wonderful Keychron Q2. I've also developed some macropads for personal CAD use which brings us to the next hobby! CAD
I love designing random objects that have weird shapes. I love giving myself a challenge and what better way to give myself a challenge than a weird, hard to measure object? I first picked up hand drafting in my freshmen year of high school and then proceeded to learn CAD with AutoDesk Inventor. I've loved CAD ever since. Electronics
Last, but most definitely not least, I love tinkering, whether it's with new or old hardware! Some of the architectures I've had fun with include i386, i486, amd64, arm, aarch64, risc-v, and avr. Rather than the "will it run DOOM?" kinda thing, I like to ask "will it connect to the internet and run IRC?"
